Rockets

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

We had quite a large turnout, and had a lot of fun. I think I’m going to lose my voice tomorrow because I was in charge of the countdown and by the end I seemed to be the only one counting!

One person brought their big rockets with them and here is a picture of their six foot rocket all ready for launch.
6ft Rocket (Ground)

I wanted to get a good picture of the launch - here is the one I took.

6ft Rocket (Missed)

Fortunately they had another launch. Here they are ready for launching again.

6ft Rocket (Ground) Attempt 2

This time I managed to take the picture at the right time!

6ft Rocket (Air)

I also managed to snap several shots of Scouts launching rockets. Here, in no particular order, are more.

Various Rockets

Everyone had fun, and the weather was really nice (if a little too windy for the green rocket above to launch). By the end of it we had even gained a small audience watching.

Thank you to all the adults that volunteered to ready the rockets by loading the engines and setting them up on the launch pad. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and remember that next month will be the Raingutter Regatta. Rules are available from here and if you don’t already have your boat then you should be receiving it very soon from your Den Leader.

Happy Easter

Rockets

I’d like to remind everyone that we are doing Rockets on the 22nd of March. The rockets have arrived so if you paid then you can collect them and start working on them.

Good luck everyone
